Trauma Release Certified Practitioner, Nutritional Consultation (Weston Price Foundation), Zero Balancing, Holistic Life Coach, Healing Touch Energy Therapy
In her many years of practice, Dr. Natasha McBride, founder of the GAPS (Gut and Psychology)
program, discovered many clients who were able to gradually decrease their
need for prescription medications, and enjoy recovery from many chronic
and severe symptoms of the digestive, immune and neurological systems. GAPS refers to a syndrome which connects
many conditions of our modern day including autism, depression, learning
disorders, and more with a severely compromised intestinal lining of the
digestive tract referred to as gastric dysbiosis. It has a nutritional protocol for healing which is consistent with
the philosophy of The Weston A Price Foundation, and the evolutionary/Paleolithic
perspective on health and nutrition.
GAPS focuses on whole foods found
naturally in the environment, produced without chemicals, without the need for factory or industrialized
processing or farming. This approach to nutrition replaces most highly processed vegetable oils
with naturally saturated dairy and animal fat, moderate protein and low
carbohydrates ~ all from sources which are natural, organic and sustainable.
The goal is to engage a person’s body in self healing and rejuvenation by healing and sealing the intestinal lining, and through lifestyle changes which are brought about through education and group support. Reducing the body's exposure to environmental toxins, re-learning how to shop for and cook
food, as well as prepare naturally fermented foods, are some of the ways a client of the GAPS program can help begin the healing process. GAPS protocol will work to restore the
essential digestive enzymes and acid balance of the stomach, along with a
gentle, gradual, detoxification. The
connection between a healthy intestinal lining and optimal cellular function
within the digestive tract has been well established and can be understood by
reading Dr. McBride’s very accessible book, Gut and Psychology Syndrome. In fact, reading this book is the first step to beginning the program.
As a certified GAPS Practitioner, I am prepared
to work with you to apply these principles of nutrition for you or a family
member, to reach optimal health, and to begin a healing from the inside out.
